Land Rover

Land Rover is a British brand of 4WD, off-road capable vehicles. Was owned by multinational car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover , since 2008. The Land Rover name was created in 1948 by the Rover Company for a  4WD. Today Land Rover vehicles comprise upmarket and luxury sport utility cars.

In 1951 was granted a Royal Warrant by King George VI . Also 50 years later, in 2001, it received a Queen’s Award. Over time, Land Rover grew into its own brand. Starting with the much more up market 1970 Range Rover, and introductions of the mid-range Discovery and entry level Freelander and in 1990 Defender refresh. Today includes two models of Discovery, four models of Range Rover.

For half a century when the Freelander was introduced, Land Rovers and Range Rovers exclusively relied on their trademark boxed-section vehicle frames. Since then all Land Rovers and Range Rovers have a unified body structure.
Since 2010, have also introduced 2WD variants, both of the Freelander, and of the Evoque.
