The XFR was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2009 as a new high-performance version of the XF range. It came with the new 5.0-liter supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III engine, which had a power output of 510 PS (375 kW; 503 hp). The XFR also featured a revised front bumper and spoiler, as well as 20-inch (508 mm) alloy wheels.
