Jaguar S-Type Repair Manuals:
The Jaguar S-Type is an executive car that was first introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show. It was sold by Jaguar from 1999 to 2007. Marked the return of the S-Type nameplate. It was previously used for the company’s four-door notchback saloon from 1963 to 1968. The car received minor facelifts in 2002 and 2004. It been discontinued in late 2007 and replaced by the XF model.
However, these plans were put on hold after the company was taken over by Ford in 1989. The S-Type was manufactured at Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich facility. Designed by Geoff Lawson in 1995, the car was based on the Jaguar DEW platform. The platform was shared with the Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird. It was introduced at the Birmingham International Motor Show. It went on sale in January 1999. The car was targeted at buyers of vehicles such as the BMW 5 Series.
