Chevrolet Epica Overview

The Chevrolet Epica, also known as the Daewoo Tosca, is a mid-size car designed by Daewoo in South Korea. Launched in Europe during the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, this vehicle is notable for its availability with transversely-mounted straight-six engines, which sets it apart from its predecessors. Codenamed V250, the Epica replaced the Daewoo Magnus and its derivatives. Unlike earlier models styled by Giugiaro, the V250’s design was developed entirely in-house.

Key Features

  • Engine Options: The Epica is unique for offering straight-six engines.
  • Design: Entirely designed by Daewoo without external styling influence.
  • Market Position: Marketed under various names globally, including Chevrolet and Holden, before the Daewoo brand transitioned to Chevrolet in South Korea.

Production Details

  • End of Production: The Daewoo Tosca ceased production in South Korea in early 2011. In China, production lasted from March 2007 until 2014, when it was ultimately replaced by the Chevrolet Malibu.
