BMW 1 Series

BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars manufactured  since 2004. It is the successor to the 3 Series compact version and is currently in its third generation. It is the entry level model in BMW range of products.  The first generation was produced in three styles hatchback, coupe and convertible.

From 2014, the coupe and convertible models was marketed separately. They were 2 Series models. BMW 1 Series range no longer includes these body styles.

In 2014 a high performance 1 Series M Coupe version was produced for the first generation. Therefore the 1 Series coupe model being replaced by the 2 Series, the 1 Series M Coupe was also replaced by the BMW M2 in 2016.

First two generations, the 1 Series had rear wheel drive, while awd was introduced as an option since 2012. For the third generation in 2019, the 1 Series switched to a front wheel drive , also leaving awd option available.
