Since the company was founded in 1871. The family business has developed into one of Europe’s leading agricultural technology manufacturers. The company was managed by Heinz Pöttinger and Klaus Pöttinger in the fourth generation from 1991 to 2016. Klaus Pöttinger withdrew from operational management in 2016. At the beginning of 2018, Heinz Pöttinger moved to the company’s supervisory board. The company is currently led by a five-person management team.

When the company was founded, the forage-cutting machine made agricultural work easier. This was followed by a number of new devices, such as mills, presses, chippers, hay loaders, and mowing machines.
